Our Services
Comprehensive Diagnostic Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive imaging modality that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce detailed, real-time images of the body’s internal structures. It plays a vital role in the diagnosis and assessment of a wide range of medical conditions, allowing dynamic evaluation of soft tissues, muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, nerves, organs, blood vessels, and other superficial structures.
At Sonar Centre, we combine advanced ultrasound technology with extensive clinical expertise to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging. Every examination is performed with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accurate, reliable, and clinically relevant results that assist referring healthcare professionals in making informed management decisions.
We are committed to delivering exceptional patient care in a professional, welcoming, and comfortable environment. Our focus is not only on image quality but also on providing a thorough examination tailored to each patient’s clinical presentation.
Whether you require a musculoskeletal, abdominal, vascular, small parts, or general ultrasound examination, you can expect a comprehensive assessment performed with precision and compassion.
Please note: The availability of specific ultrasound examinations may vary depending on the clinical indication, referral requirements, and scope of practice. If you are unsure whether a particular examination is offered, please contact our practice and our team will be happy to assist you.

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
At Sonar Centre, we specialise in comprehensive, advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations, providing detailed assessment of the body’s muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, nerves, and surrounding soft tissues. This highly specialised imaging modality plays an important role in the diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
Unlike static imaging techniques, musculoskeletal ultrasound enables real-time dynamic assessment, allowing structures to be evaluated during movement. This provides valuable information about function, instability, impingement, tendon subluxation, muscle contraction, and other movement-related abnormalities that may not be apparent on static imaging.
Our examinations are tailored to each patient’s clinical presentation and are performed with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accurate and clinically relevant findings.Examinations Include:
• Tendons and tendon disorders
• Ligament injuries
• Muscles and muscle tears
• Joint effusions
• Peripheral nerves and nerve entrapment syndromes
• Soft tissue masses and cysts
• Sports-related injuries
• Dynamic musculoskeletal assessments
• Bursae and inflammatory conditions
• Guided assessment of pain and soft tissue abnormalities -
General & Small Parts Ultrasound
At Sonar Centre, we offer a comprehensive range of general and small parts ultrasound examinations to evaluate the body’s internal organs, superficial structures, and soft tissues. Using advanced ultrasound technology, we provide detailed, real-time imaging to assist in the diagnosis and management of a wide variety of medical conditions.
Each examination is tailored to the patient’s clinical presentation and referral indication, ensuring a thorough and accurate assessment. Our commitment to excellence, combined with extensive clinical expertise, enables us to provide high-quality diagnostic information that supports effective patient care.Examinations Include:
• Abdominal Ultrasound – Assessment of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and abdominal aorta.
• Pelvic Ultrasound – Evaluation of the uterus, ovaries and adnexal structures. Evaluation of the prostate and bladder.
• Urinary Tract Ultrasound – Assessment of the kidneys, ureters (where visible) and bladder.
• Thyroid Ultrasound – Evaluation of the thyroid gland and surrounding cervical soft tissues.
• Breast Ultrasound – Assessment of palpable abnormalities, focal symptoms and imaging correlation.
• Superficial Soft Tissue Ultrasound – Assessment of lumps, swellings, cysts, lipomas, abscesses, foreign bodies and other superficial soft tissue abnormalities.
• Basic First-Trimester Pregnancy Ultrasound – Assessment for confirmation and localisation of an intrauterine pregnancy, fetal viability, and estimation of gestational age using crown-rump length (CRL) measurement. This examination is performed during the first trimester as clinically indicated. -
Vascular Ultrasound
At Sonar Centre, we provide comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations using advanced colour and spectral Doppler technology to evaluate the arterial and venous systems. These non-invasive studies allow detailed, real-time assessment of blood flow, vessel patency, and haemodynamic function, assisting in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of vascular conditions.
Each examination is performed according to established vascular imaging protocols and is tailored to the patient’s clinical presentation and referral indication. Our detailed assessments provide referring healthcare professionals with accurate diagnostic information to guide appropriate treatment and ongoing patient care.Examinations Include:
• Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Assessment – Evaluation for deep venous thrombosis of the upper and lower limbs.
• Arterial Doppler Ultrasound – Assessment of arterial blood flow, stenosis, occlusion, and peripheral arterial disease.
• Venous Insufficiency Assessment – Evaluation of venous reflux, valvular incompetence, and chronic venous disease.
• Carotid Doppler Ultrasound – Assessment of the carotid and vertebral arteries for atherosclerotic disease, stenosis, and cerebrovascular risk.
• Peripheral Vascular Imaging – Comprehensive evaluation of the peripheral arterial and venous circulation using colour and spectral Doppler techniques.
